In order to obtain a Class A (Tractor Trailer) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), First you need a Commercial Drivers Instruction Permit (CDIP). You cannot practice driving a vehicle with ordinary driver’s license.
In New Jersey to get Class A CDL, you’ll need just two following requirements:
- You must be least 18 years old. If you want to drive interstate, you must be at least 21.
- You must own a valid driver’s license.
If eligible, you’ll need to pass a Commercial Driver Instruction Permit test to obtain a CDIP. This test involves no driving. It’s a written exam similar to the one you passed for your regular driver license. The difference is that the multiple-choice questions only address Commercial Driving topics.
At Driving Academy we prepare you according to state’s CDL manual and also help you taking a few practice permit tests within campus. we have prepared handy material which can also be download from here
