CDL Driving Classes

What is a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)?

A Commercial Driver’s License is required to drive commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) such as tractor trailers, semi-trucks, dump trucks, and passenger buses. If you looking for a career of Freedom the road rather than in an office or warehouse  you’ll most likely need a CDL.

There are three classes of CDLs that determine the kinds of vehicles you’re permitted to drive: Class A, Class B, and Class C. CDL classification is also determined by the vehicle’s gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and other specific requirements.

READY FOR A SAFE, FUN DRIVING EXPERIENCE?

Our school offers lessons for teenage first-time drivers, new adult learners
and existing drivers with lapsed licenses. Career opportunities are also available via CDL training!

It takes highly specialized knowledge and skills to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). But prior to 1986, many states allowed anyone with an car driver license to operate a CMV. As a result, many drivers throughout the country were driving CMVs without proper training. On October 27, 1986, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act was signed into law. This law made it mandatory for all drivers of commercial vehicles to have a CDL. By ensuring that bus drivers and operators of large trucks are highly trained and qualified, this law has improved highway safety significantly.

We, at Driving Academy offer affordable, state-approved classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons for teens, adults (seniors included) and aspiring truck (a.k.a. CDL) drivers. Our founder and lead instructor comes from a family of teachers and professional CDL drivers. With a lifetime of driver education experience, driving is something we take very seriously. He has, practically, grew up in this business and, teaching and driving is in his blood. He has developed a system of driver education that can help even the most challenged students. He has truly taken this industry by storm by putting fundamental education before anything else which has set the new standard for driver training in the 21 century.
