What Can You Drive with a Class A CDL?

At Driving Academy in Tucson, Arizona, earning your Class A CDL gives you access to a wide range of commercial driving opportunities. One of the most common vehicles is the tractor-trailer, used to transport goods across long distances. These trucks can be paired with different trailer types, including dry vans, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers, depending on the cargo.

With a Class A license, you can also operate double and triple trailers, tractor-trailer buses, and specialized vehicles like tankers and livestock carriers. Plus, you’ll be qualified to drive Class B vehicles, such as city buses, school buses, dump trucks, and box trucks.

Some vehicles require additional endorsements, like the Passenger (P) endorsement, which we offer through our Class B+P program. These endorsements involve extra training and testing but can lead to even more career options.

What Class A CDL Jobs Are There?

Getting your Class A CDL at Driving Academy in Tucson, Arizona opens the door to a variety of career paths. Many local and national companies rely on dry van trailers to move goods, making CDL holders highly sought after in the Tucson area. You could also become a dedicated driver for a specific customer, building long-term relationships and job stability.

With the right endorsements, you’ll be qualified to drive tankers or hazardous materials, which often come with higher pay. Other options include car hauling, helping transport vehicles across the region. Whether you’re interested in long-haul routes that take you across the country or local driving jobs that keep you close to home, Tucson offers opportunities to match your lifestyle and goals.
