Levi Stowell
Born and raised in Rigby, Idaho, Levi is the local boy who worked long hours at George and Jesse’s Les Schwab Tire store during high school. During his time there, he learned about semi tires, tractor tires, and how to service semis and tractors. After he finished high school, Levi served two years as a missionary in Zimbabwe, Africa, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Upon his return, he became a General Manager at Ron’s Tire Factory in Rigby. At Ron’s he furthered his mechanical knowledge and training for vehicles, trucks, and tires.
Levi has been in the trucking industry for 20 years and has owned a successful trucking business for over 15. Despite the economic difficulties, he has found a way to make trucking profitable. He has a Class A CDL license, and the following endorsements:
- Doubles and triples,Tankers, Hazmat, Reefer, Flatbed, Belly Bumps and Side Bumps
Levi is known for training new drivers as they enter their driving careers and helping students earn their Class A CDL and other certifications. Levi has been in most of the 48 contiguous states, delivering food items, construction items, and produce. He has also spent much of the last 10 years hauling liquid road oil across the country. Levi now trains drivers to haul oil across the country in any weather condition as well as serving as our main mechanic.
Jared Hatfield
Jared started working in the trucking industry at 18, serving as a lube tech at a local diesel shop. Eventually, he worked his way up the ranks to become a Master Tech at International Dealerships. He earned his technician certification to perform all repairs. He eventually moved into construction, where he earned 15 years of experience driving dump trucks, transports, belly dumps, side dumps, and other equipment.
In his late 30s, Jared started trucking, operating heavy-duty semi-trucks hauling water and gas in tanker trailers. He has also operated reefer, dry van, flatbed trailers, and oil tanker trailers. For the last four years, he has managed the daily operations, maintenance, dispatch, and driver training for a local company’s semi-trucks. He trains drivers in the following:

Jade Winterbottom
Jade trained in the Naval Supply System for the United States Navy and was deployed in the Persian Gulf War. After four years of service to our country, he was honorably discharged. With his experience in the Navy, he learned how to manage and operate supplies. Jade has managed Pacific Northwest’s operations and logistics and received a certificate as an OSHA trainer.
Jade has over 25 years of experience in training and operating all types of equipment, including forklifts and commercial trucks. For the last five years, he has maintained his Class A CDL license and has operated heavy-duty trucks with double trailers and reefer trailers across the country.

No you do not! We have many types of CDL courses available at Driving Academy. We have CDL half courses available for people who already have their permit. This course will get you ready to pass the CDL road test.
You ONLY need 3 things in order to get your CDL.
- Valid Drivers License
- Be healthy enough to pass a DOT physical
- Have a Social Security Number
The CDL road test can only be done in English. This means you will have to understand verbal directions in English to take the test. However, the written tests can be done in Spanish or English. Driving Academy has instructors that can speak Spanish and help you get ready for the CDL road test!
Yes, as long as your driver’s license is still valid you can get a CDL. When you sign up with our CDL school, we will even help you find a job with our lifetime Job Placement Program!
Yes, you can do a CDL road test in a truck that features an automatic transmission! However, you will have an automatic restriction on your CDL license if you do.
Driving Academy offers BOTH types of transmission options. Our students pick whether they want a truck with an automatic or manual transmission.
